I am trying to find the correct positioning for the seat belt mounting on a aks400 van and the types fitted over time. Its 1978 model. I have the pyramids mounted in front of the rear windows and can find a bolt hole in the sill plus one in the pnael behind the seat on either side of the seat. i.e. one in the middle and one near to the 'b' post. Having seen static belts fitted and i'm sure i've seen a picture of one fitted with 'modern' 2CV type seat belts with the winder horizontally mounted on the pyramid, but i thoiugh they only worked vertically to arrest travel? I dont have the seat belts for it. Any pictures or advice would be gratefully received. Thanks |

I have the pyramids mounted in front of the rear windows AFAIK, that's the only way they ever fitted belts to 2cv-front vans, since France only required belts in vans for the last year or two before the Acad (with a normal Dyane B-pillar) took over. Depends on the belt. Normal 2cv ones work vertically, but other inertia reels are designed to work horizontally - f'rexample rears on s2 CX saloons sit on top of the rear shelf, just behind your shoulder. For the 400 we're doing at the mo, we're just going "normal 2cv-style", with the upper mount onto the B-pillar. |

Mine has the bolt holes as show in the pictures but hasn't got the mount on the post. I have new 'b' posts to replace the whole length so it maybe a case of forming the mount or finding two of a scrap car. The other option was some form of static belts using the pyramids to come over the shoulder. |

we used cx rears like adrian said. bolted on to the pyramids. i have also fitted normal 2cv 1s before using a rightangled bracket made out of steel with 2 holes in it this makes the reel upright. not very good looking but it worked |

My van's got static belts bolted to the pyramids and sill, which I assume it had from the factory. It hasn't got the upper mount on the 'B' pillar though and 3-points can't be fitted without this. I did think about modding the B pillar to accept a mount but the statics are ok when properly adjusted and high enough for your shoulder with the pyramids. |
