That is impressive, seeing is believing. Where can I get my hands of one of them? Thanks for sharing, great stuff. All other attempts to fix the 2cv engine vacuum problem is more or less unsuccessful. It is so powerful it may even suck back the oil leaking from the push rod seals.

Before rushing off to the boat centre, I wonder how this device fares at working engine speeds?

Most folk seem to check for good vacuum at tickover, but forget the other (equally important) part of the test, which is that the crankcase pressure shouldn't go positive at _any_ rpm.

the brass one in the first picture looks like it is a gas check valve and will be oil safe as the internals are usually flame proof.
the second ones that i posted for 'Im do look like they may not be oil safe and need to be dismantled for a look see.
I was running an in line check valve robbed out a Pug but as Ken hinted it went very slightly positive at full chat

finally ive got a fix for the breather that does suck at all revs but as yet its longevity hasnt been tested, will just have to wait and see.

Very interesting all this breather stuff, so i have a further question, especially as Ken and Sean have mentioned the additional valves going positive at high RPM. The alloy ones as seen above, supplied through preffered supplier of bits, do they go positive at high RPM also? Mainly i ask cos i have one on the van and if its not really working id better buy a new breather.
