Need to take some panels off and fill a couple of holes - largest being a few mm diameter, so not worth welding or replacing (in my opinion - ????) so.... can i have some recommendations for filler. Assuming filler isn't a dirty word / taboo / idunno thanks all Will |

Whatever filler you use, you should have a plate or mesh behind the hole to support the filler. No mater what, it will eventually crack from vibrations. Don't want to flame you but the whole exercise is pointless. It may look good for a while. Maybe try fibreglass. |

Maybe try fibreglass. in that case what i might do is clean/de-grease/Bilt Hamber/Zinc Prime/top coat THE HOLES - why not???? it keeps it original and it will last until i get it done professionally.... you got to be pragmatic about these things...no? am i sinking into a vortex of disapproval????  p.s. - what do the french call wings...gonna try leboncoin |

Even though I've had quite a number of new panels fitted, I will admit to a small amount of filler hear and there. Two places which spring to mind are the bottoms of the bodyshell, at the back, and either side of the numberplate. Yes, I could have cut out the rot and got new steel welded in but I cleaned everything up, using Kurust, Anti-Rust Primer, then half-a-dozen coats of Blanc Meije. The insides will be sprayed with Waxoyl. It's do me and should it come though again, I'll do the same again, until such time it needs a more permament repair. |

Thanks Paul - that's more what I'm talking about. I'm not going to be slapping swathes of the stuff everywhere, just some really small areas that need the rust stemming. I shall google Blanc Meije forthwith....that's the 'filler' is it? EDIT - no, Will you wally - that's the paint colour!!! - what about filler Paul? Thanks again Will |

For I put off having major welding/spraying done until its at the point where a whole panel needs replacing. I did the grot on my bonnet hinge with epoxy. Ground out all the rust, applied kurust, filled the holes with epoxy, using microballons and fiberglass matting where neccessary, then finished with zinc primer and rattle cans I bought from ecas. I'm really pleased with the finish, far more so than I thought I'd be. |
