Post Re: 2cv with smart turbo intercooler.
Hey, now I have been running regular 2CV tuned in over 10 years and the last 2 years with the turbo, has also driven 2CV Cross for several years without gearbox problems (the last 3 years with the gear box which sat in the 2CV crossren.)
Ok, must have changed synkromesse to second gear this winter, but now I only use the car in the summer + 2 weekends of drag race.

Lars E - I love this!!

There's two types of blow-off (or bypass) valve. There's recirculating - which release the excess pressire into the intake ducting between air filter and turbo - and atmospheric - which release the pressure out to the atmosphere.

Did they used to be called a "wastegate" on Montego/Maestro Turbos or is that something different?

Something different. The wastegate vents boost to the exhaust when the pressure rises too high.

Post Re: 2cv with smart turbo intercooler.
Well here's an update for my smart turbo intercooler so far;
I've tested the inlet manifold (standalone) on my second hand bigbore engin, and the inlet is great but the engine isn't. I had to scale the fuelmapping by 30% (meaning it works) but my first impression is that a visa engin has more power in it, but thats another story.

Here some new pics.
Image
total overview of the new inlet manifold with multipoint lpg injectors (the red things)
Image
close up of a (LPG/GPL) injector, I divided the injectorrail to have the injectors close to the inletports
Image
the Chevrolet Matiz throttlebody 38mm seems to be a little small for my opinion (for a normal 2cv engine) but hey when the air is under pressure it will work fine (I hope).
Image
exhaust manifold i've had to heat up and bend the dipstickholder backwards
Image
oil pipe going in to the turbo ( the extension in the middle is made by myself) I changed the oil in and outlet from the turbo to the underside......credits to Bart for that.

This is interesting, keep it coming. What are the red things in the first two pics, they don't look like injectors?

edit; Ahh, I see, he added the captions later, I'm not really that unobservant.

Hey Lpgo,

So is this LGP only or a duel fuel set up?

Post Re: 2cv with smart turbo intercooler.
For now it's LPG only, I managed to drive only on LPG for about 3 years now, when you only drive at LPG all seals from the carburator, petrolpump and so on are dry, so it won't run on petrol anymore, but when it runs well I try to make it runningon petrol also, I just need then
two petrol injectors, electric fuelpump 3bar, petrol pressure regulator and a pressure petrol tube from the tank.

By the way this evening I had the first run with the turbo fitted and the only problem for now is that the turbo won't spin, I think I've tightened the turbo-housing to strong, Tomorow I hope I can fix the problem and make the turbo spinning. Oil to the turbo is very good so this won't be a problem.

Then I need to map the engine for boost, this will take at least 3 or 4 evenings, to make it drivable.......
