When I last owned 2CVs about fifteen years ago, I cleaned my Wendy Roofs with a powerful solvent which she sold for that very purpose. Amélie's roof has got pretty grubby having been in the workshop since June. What's generally the best method of cleaning them?

What I heard is to use groene zeep (green soap), as we call it in Holland. Don't know if it is available in the UK.
It's also called zachte zeep, soft soap.
A brand wich sells it is Tricel.

This soap works very good on a standard roof. It cleans, brings the colour back and keeps the roof soft/smooth/flexible.

This is gold-soap, which is the same as "green soap"...

But I don't know how it is called on the other side of the canal.

This soap used to be made with hemp-oil...

I don't think we've got a direct equivalent over here - we'd normally use different cleaning products for those jobs.

Sorry but I wouldn't buy Cillit Bang on principle. That bloody awful man shouting in the TV advert.
