i'm not sure about these type of muffs they must be for extreme conditions and stop the air flow compleatly they do look pretty cool tho |

They can be rolled up if desired to increase airflow. Early Dyane's, Ami's, H vans etc used canvas muffs too. |

Harry, the full cover doesn't block air flow around the engine completely, as the fan is still perfectly capable of drawing air from the space between the grille and the engine... What the grille muff is doing is removing the extra 'wind chill' factor produced by forward motion of the car.
