Post Ami 6 wing mirrors / DS wing mirrors
hello there

does anyone happen to know if DS & Ami 6 wing mirrors are one of the same?

i don't know much about DS's but i'm talking about 1970's models.

i know Ami used the steering wheels and inner door handles but what about the wing mirrors?

any advice gratefully received.

Cheers
Will

Dunno about Ami 6, but Ami 8 mirrors are very similar to DS, although not _quite_ identical. D mirrors can certainly be used, though - and have been on a certain green Super...

Dunno if they fit - probably - but SM mirrors could be cool on an Ami...

cheers for that...

best thing to do is pull up to a DS and compare i guess - or just trawl the net..

at the moment i've got the factory one on the N/S and a weird "english looking" round one O/S - looks silly....

the SM rear always reminds me of the pink panther car

bye for now

The D's mirror is not the same as the AMI6. That doesnt mean you cant' use one, I think.

But the D dont have this kind of mounting:

Well, that looks VERY similar to the one on the Ami 8 - and I definitely bought D mirrors for that...

I had DS mirrors on the Ami8 when I had it, but they were a different fitting altogether. Come to think of it, it may have been an aftermarket mirror taken from a scrap DS23, and not a Citroen part at all.

Which makes this advice pretty useless. Sorry.

I have 3 D's, and none of them has a mirror like the one on my AMI6 picture.
The D's are missing the "inner" support. And they doesnt look the same.
But as I said, if the hole in the doorskin is big enough, you should be able to use a D-mirror. If the hole is to small you can widen it, asuming there is room for the nut. But if you do that, you cant go back to original, so.....
