Removed the oil cooler from the front of engine, used proper oil pipe to bypass

I just took away the original oil-cooler by-pass valve, and put plugs to oil cooler fittings. Small spring was also removed, forgot that when took this photo...

As repair manual said, the by-pass is non-removeable, that isn't true. In real world it is removeable quite easy...

Maybe my description was confusing.
The bypass valve was left in the block.
By "Bypass" I meant.... an oil pipe in place of the oil filter connecting to the input to the output.
See picture the pipe unions are just visible behind the fan.

Yes, it can be seen there.

I had once some solution in my "slightly tuned" Visa, with GS gearbox and Visa bellhouse, no oil temp problems even when driven 160 km/h and over...

Just a thought but if your forward speed is greater than the fan 'air pull' speed then don't you get increased engine power from the 'windmill' effect.....

Conversely if your forward speed is lower, doesn't the fan help 'pull you along', like a propellor. :D

My views on engine driven fans are the faster its running the more air and ultimately cooling you get

At the risk of going off on a tangent, some blokes up the road have just posted this youtube video for A$10/GBP5 DIY water-cooling of an intercooler on a turbo'd mx5 that might be adapted for the 2cv oil cooler.
