Me too - but you don't need to fanny around with settings, you can 'plug and play' I believe :)

but if you put it in any other vehicle, other than A-type 2 cilinder, you almost surely will have to 'tweak' the settings!

This will be for a 4 cylinder with a distributor, so that should work with the one from the 205.

yes I understuud that, but every engine (even if they are the same type) will have different optimal settings, also every engine (especially if it is a different type; manufacturer) will have a different point where it will start pinking; detonating (not sure if it is the correct word)

so if the 12-spark isn't set for your car, it will have to be tuned (at least this is my opinion, but Geo will be able to confirm if this is true)

greetzzzzzzzzzzzz

My ignition will run out of the box, but at your Simca it is tricky so the best would be to tune it with a laptop.... if neccecary. You can put it in and when it runs well leave it (check your coil if it doesn't get hot) and check for pinking/overheating the engine.
You can always buy a laptop afterwards if you need the feel for tuning.

The same story for the M4 engine. But when using a black 2cv coil or yellow Harley coil you don't need to check the coil.. Just check on pinking, or overheating the engine (do to much advance).

Just got to get my head around the sensor pickup.

Do I need to weld a metal tab onto one of pulley wheels and then place the sensor to pick up this metal tab. How does the sensor work?

Sorry for being a bit thick here.

Yes you need to weld a metal tab onto one of the pulley wheels, but it has to be at the crankshaft, otherwise the speed isn't right. The VR sensor is a sort of dynamo, when the pickup passes the sensor a litlte current is made by the sensor and this is send to the chip....

Speaking in your therms it is like a bicycle speedometer, a tab is attached to the a spoke the sensor to the fork.............

Take some pictures of the engine and I will look at it....
