Shouldn't be a problem anymore now.

Very nice Geo,

Question: When used with active coils, does this feature make it 1-2-3-spark?
Or it has no other effect on the sequence it needs to go through before the first spark event?

Harley

1-2-3- arggghhhhhhh

no then it is ..... 1. Sensor-passing coil/petrolpump,lpg tank goes on.
and.................. 2. Sensor-passing SPARK occurs......

3 is not needed at my ignition.

So coil/petrolpump/lpg tank is always faster as Spark, and goes off 2 seconds after last spark,
clever again eh....

So it has no other effect on the sequence

p.s tried it yesterday evening with the shiftlight works really great.....

Cheers Geo.....

Geo, Follow the progress with much interst.
Where do you intend to position the temp. sensor ? In airflow , oil, valve head ? What style of temperature sensor do you plan ? Automotive sensor, NTC, PT1000 ?.

I'm measuring the temp at the top of the heat exchange for over 3 years now..

Please take a look on page 61 of this topic I already mentioned all the details about the temp sensor, please read it there....

The sensor which I use right now is one out of a Citroen Saxo the coolant sensor, but 2 days ago I ordered 3 open element sensors because I am measuring in the airflow on top of the heat exanger...... open element sensor are designed to operate in the air having a much faster responce time..

Do you think the 1-2-Spark would work with my Simca 6. Just thinking about improving the current performance of the engine just to see. If it doesn't then I can move it over to my 4L which is currently under restoration and will be my wife's daily driver.

Let me have the info etc to decide - cheers
Ian

If you'r in big trouble I have 1 unit lying around which drove a Peugeot 205.... so should be fine for your car (4 cilinder with distributor).... it already has 12volt you wrote...

You need to make a pickup on the crankshaft (maybee on a beltwheel) 45 degrees before tdc cil.no.1 and a mount for the sensor.

Okeee - when you say make a pick up - what do you mean. Like a shiny mark or something that will activate the sensor. Do you have a photo as an example.

PM me with the cost too as I am interested and would love to join the club :)

You need te weld a little a little plate 10x10mm on the crackshaft (for instance at the outline of a beltwheel or something) which can be traced by the sensor. The sensor needs to be .75mm to 1mm above the plate. When the sensor is exactly at the middle of the sensor
1 of the cilinders need to be at (around) 45 degrees before top dead center..... Try to position the cilinder at 0 (chopstick in a plughole) and then turn it 45 degrees in opposite direction of normal direction.....

you can download the installation manual and read it, I think some things will become clear...

https://www.dropbox.com/s/w7tw449pbo5wfjs/1-2-Spark%20cd.zip

otherwise take a look at my wifes Suzuki motorcycle where I made also a pickup welded at the camshaft.... It runs op to 9000 rpm with it....

or

If you buy it and I doesn't work at your car you can always send it back...... ofcourse you will get your money back (exept post and package   ).
I will p.m. you the price...
