also while i was there, ive correctly wired in the car stero, straight into the battery, with nice wire, through the bulkhead, (its fused at the cd player, but im going to fuse it at the battery i think also just incase it shorted on metal work somwhere..) as before it was wired into the feed for one of the wires for the dash, an to thin, and when i bought the car, this offending wire was just sitting there, floating in the breeze, LIVE!!!!

oh dear, anyway done

id also reccomend making sure you dont short the battery out on the body while doing the battery up, whilst undoing the live, i shorted it on the abttery yoke with my spanner, on re connectiong, while i was doing it up with the spanner my bare arms where resting on the car, on the apeture panels, and it was a bit tingily

Not much use after the event, but in future,always disconnect the earth first, and re-connect it last.
