Post Re: 1-2-spark
I am now firing one 1-2 spark

I will right a proper report when i sit at the pc but in short

Had a cockup. Drilled tapped holes. Thought id check one hole. Snapped tap in hole. !!
So spent an hour trying to remove it but couldnt. So pickup is held by one bolt with some v strong (i really do mean strong) silicone.

Anyway fired straight up, runs very well. Perhaps my idle speed is too low, but it seems that you need less throttle to do the same speed if you know what i mean. Maybe cycologicale but seems that way

It starts immediatly too which is good

Now i just need to put a ring terminal on the battery for negative, and mount the unit properly too

Geo do you have detailed instructions and pictures for the vacumn hose to carb?

I assume thats what the .6mm welding tip is for?

Anyway pictures

Made a pickup but wasnt satisfied it was perfect

Made another. No pics of finished one but spent time with a needle file perfecting

Image

Mounted the holder
Image
Not perfect welding as didnt want to set fire to the car

I had to adjust the idle speed when I was on 1-2-spark.

When I switch back to 123 which I've not done now for months the difference is so noticeable. It's like driving a bag of nails!!

Good to hear you have it up and running...

This is 123 ignition but page 4 is where you will find how to fit the advance tube. I did it when I had 123 evo on my Visa engine. Easy.

The way i did is drill a hole 4mm in this thing (dont know the name in english):

Image

carful i damaged the first one. They crack easy.

And gleu a litte t-piece whit some 2k epoxy that can resist patrol and heat.
Place does not matter. Front, back, side just what easy for you.

Image

I use a t piece becouse i need vacuum for cruicecontrol to.

It is possible to make a vacuum on the carburator but i dont want to drill in my carb.

The welding tip is to damp the vacuum a bit.

I put it in the hose

Image

It works ok, when i look on the laptop the yellow box go all the way from bottom tot top when hit the throttle.

Jameswallace, great you made it happen, I'm very proud of you......
others can take an example of you; aso.

As djjr1982 says Take the carburetor off.

Take the underlaying plate of (don't know the English name either).

Drill a hole 4mm in the backside (flywheel side) (yellow dot in picture), carefully because it cracks easy. (Drill till it comes out at the big hole)
This way it gets connected to the air of the inletmanifould...

Maybee you can drill first with 2mm and then with 3 and at last 4.......

Attachment:

tapper M5 as the welding tip is M5 (please check)

Now mount the welding tip in the plate with your sticky silicon stuff and let the silicon stuff dry.... check if you can "breath" through the welding tip. Mount everything together and connect the hose at the welding tip; thats it....

You can do it like 123 does, but I managed to brake a drill in Marks 4x4 carburator, so now I do it like above (When the plate brakes it will set you back 9 euro when carburetor brakes    .......

p.s. about your pickup plate, be sure it can't come off (only with 1 screw)
otherwise drill just to the left and try again....

Now if your car feels sluggish on 1-2-spark you can/need to tune it.... otherwise leave it the way it is or try the different switch positions....
