Medway are a bunch of animals though, they'd wreck a 2cv for sure!

Post Re: Strip n Dip
Just remembered that there are alternatives to hot-dip and e-coating: flame spraying and arc spraying.

I used to work for a company that uses this technology. They're mentioned in the article (SMP Playgrounds). Unfortunately, they made me redundant in 2009 and I went after them, so I don't think they'd welcome enquiries or a potential commission from me. Until recently, I'd blocked thoughts about the kind of things they did, but I opened my mind a bit whilst on a yomp over the Malvern Hills this afternoon... bizarrely, memories of flame spraying dribbled into my mind.

Galvanizing your shell at Duckservice will cost you around 1550 euro's. It's everything but cheap but it should keep your body in good shape for decades.

to which will surely out way the costs of repairing your rusty shell every 10 years ??

im seriously considering it

call me mad!

but anyway, if someone else in the country is going to do it, or has or knows what one would need to do,
a list of woh to talk to would be helpful, as im not very good at finding that stuff out myself

It's very reasonable when you consider a "reconditioned" body shell from Halifax is £2.5k.

What's so unreasonable about that? Quality costs money you know! ;)

Maybe this was one of theirs?

I know it's a non-starter really, there is no way I can raise £5,000, but just imagine! I could galvanise everything! :D
It sounds perfect for 2cvs, no distortion, better quality coating than hot dip (Well they would say that, but...)
Are there any immensely rich benefactors out there? I've given up on inheriting a fortune, and I don't buy lottery tickets...

Edit: Oops, hope they weren't the company you worked for smiffy

Is there any point in doing that? Metal spraying isn't going to get inside box sections and that is where most of the rust starts.
