Re: keeping warm / getting warm in a 2cv
well before i adjusted previously, i could fit my hole hand and some of my arm out the door, not its sort of half my hand, and yes i agree no 2cv is weather proof as such, but any positive attempts / ideas to improve it would never go a miss, i bet most people will agree,
im not exspecting it to be like i have a wood burning stove inside, with no windage noise etc, that would ruin the car, i think its great, driving, almost like your passenger said, feeling the weather, its par for the course really

I can fit my whole body through my door, I find it helps with getting in... Seriously, don't worry about it shutting. Adjust it so it seals first, and then afterwards adjust the catch so that it closes nicely. ps, I failed gcse english too, difference is I didn't bother resitting it.

Quote: but anyway yer its a bastard Totally! Anyway I guess what I'm trying to say, if you don't mind me sticking my nose in, is don't be in a rush to find jobs to do on a 2cv, enjoy driving it and something will crop up that needs doing! I'd buy some new cardboard heater tubes (I've been told if you don't cut them they should stay on without help from ties etc). With those and your draught excluder you'll probably do fine... oh and if it's snowing try driving with the roof off, its nice

James, the striker plate on the front of the B-post works better the further out it is. I know this because I had a rattle from the passenger door and I spent 20mins yesterday adjusting door and striker plate to get a better fit. If you spend some time and don't rush things, you can/should get a really good fit. You'll need a torque (star shaped) screwdriver to adjust the striker plates.

I remember one of the Finns on Raid Oz 2008 explaining how they put copper tubes in around the heater boxes... I think.... I think he also said they pack insulation in between the copper tubes, I think... He said it made a huge difference. After all, he was a 2cv ice racing champion 8)
