Ok,Ok lets ask Viking to do a thread on "how to center rear brakes" correctly.

its not rocket science -
    1 Fit the new shoes fit the drum adjust the snail cams so the shoes are just dragging.
    2 Remove the drum ( all this drum on and off is easier if you grind off the corrosion and wear lip on the drum with a flap wheel in a grinder).
    3 Fit your superdooper tool and find high spot ( which will be at the top 20mm of the shoe) then using the eccentric adjuster make sure the majority of the shoe is in contact with the tool.
    4 Fit drums.
optionally go for a short drive plenty of braking both forward and back and repeat the centering process this gets the shoes well bedded in and all concentric.

dont peen the nut till your sure you have achieved working honk free brakes or youll spend a fortune on nuts and thread files

Just been busy with cleaning up after the flooding and now away with work.. Will be home tomorrow.

Just got back from a long trip (Tour de France went through our region). It was waiting fro me at the post office this morning.

thank you for that - it is great and I will get in the garage to try it out asap (busy time for us at the moment) Need it though as I went out in the AZU and went to stop.....and nothing :?
