My stereo is always mounted on a frame under the driver's seat, pointing towards the driver's door, you soon get used to operating the buttons by touch. Strangely, it's never been nicked

My record is 3 radio/cd players in one year... The car still leaks due to a bad windowframe, but the current radio is in for almost 2 years now, still going strong.

Live with a leaking car

My car leaked like a sieve before I had it "restored", and it still leaks now, even with new windscreen surround, new windscreen and rubber and new wiper spindles.....It's a 2cv, they leak. I will say though, my CD/radio has been in since I bought the car over eight and a half years ago, and it's still working...... just (the CD player has recently decided to eject any and all CDs) :?

Post Re: mounting a cd player in a 2cv
im not tired of the car leakign, i dont mind that, its more the leaking on the cd player
i geuss thats why i fused the cd player

ahh well,

my car hardly leaks one bit any more, it was bone dry the other day, all day in the rain, so happy, so iwas driving home, turned a corner, water pissed all over the dash and eletrics, it was going so well!!

ah well!
i think its a laugh anyway!!

what ive resorted to doing, is sticking old used (small) coke bottles, abought the circumfarence of a beer can, on each side by the sills under the matts, to give it a edge, and ive also got the matts on top of the bottom of the seat rails. now, any wayter leaks into cab, sits on the matt, and is easily mopped up, and no removing matts to dry out floors neccasary, genius :ubergeek: until once when my car used to leak v bad there was so mcuh it over flowed

now ive re sealed my bonnet hinge, no water runs down the inside of the a post, and no water comes out via the choke cable, and the only exception to water getting in was down the dash, no idea where from, but i have a nearly leak free 2cv!!

one day i, or someone will spoil the fun of a 2cv and manage to stop one leaking, i know its against tradition, and its "par for the course" but i wouldnt mind having an attempt, even for a laugh
now back on topic!!

All you need is some half decent compudder USB speakers ( £20ish), USB 12v fag light adaparter (£2.99 at Maplin), IPOD holder that sticks to the windscreen and an IPOD: Doesn't get leaked on; Not half as nickable (unless you leave the IPOD in the car obviously) and the sound is as good as the two modern cars' stereos aswell. ;)
