 Re: 1-2-spark
This morning I made a new video with the mapsensor advancing the ignition...... I made a new circuit and now it is running stable enough to make decent (test) runs...... It is running great now......... when you look at the video look at the little gauge at the middel of the screen. This is the map gauge.. when it is at 12 o'clock this is normal airpressure or full throttle, when it goes to the left then theres a vacuum in the inlet manifold giving advance to the ignition. The little numbers in the screen are giving the advance numbers and at the right you can see the accual degrees of advance...... Cruising along you need less throttle as normal so it is more fuelefficiant...... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V5KCU9Uo ... e=youtu.be

 Re: 1-2-spark
Looks good - how much better fuel economy?? Will it work on pressure or just vacuum?

Dyane61976 wrote: Will it work on pressure or just vacuum? Don't worry will work for your turbo car too (but I can't test that.... You must do that for me ) At a turbo car (creating boost) the pointer will go to the right.... (This is me blowing as hard as I can; almost .2 bar of boost As you can see the ignition is now retarded by 7 degrees... you have to set this to your engine... Here's the software so far....... Re: 1-2-spark
When you have one ready (other people may want one first) please pm me and I will pay as before. Where would best place be for map sensor, do I just make T connection with boost gauge?

I need to test a little more, today I have other values (airpressure) then yesterday so I need to solve that first... but it is going into the right direction... I think I will make your's first, then Saurus if he wants one..... then others..... Mark 4x4??? and so on.... But I need some more testing and I'm still working to make the best circuit for the map sensor........

 Re: 1-2-spark
No rush - 1-2 spark version 1 working fine. When you are fully happy with version 2-3? let me know.

Mark II will be much improvement for your car I know for shure, off boost will be much better ...... now you have 22 degrees of advance boost or no boost but with mark 2 you have 33 degrees off boost going to 22 degrees when boost comes in.... so when releasing the throttle and shifting up and hitting the throttle will give you less turbolag..... Hope you understand what I'am trying to say......

Hi Lpgo, I'm prbably being very thick here, the box marked 'Advance' on the mapsensor video is showing the ignition advancing to 50 odd degrees when the revs drop...? Is this to increase engine braking? Or... I'm well lost here... Anyway, it's fascinating and I want one! mike

Anyway, it's fascinating and I want one! mike Please start reading page 19 of this topic (about in the middle of the page) then you understand why it goes up to 50 degrees of advance, or better start reading at page 1........ And yes you can have one when I'm satisfied with it but I'm not satisfied yet.... I've got a stable mapreading, but 1 day normal airpressere is about 95 at the gauge, the next day 100 and the day after 105 so this is not good, it has to be around 100 all day... so I still have problems to solve....... I don't want to order new PCB's till I've got the circuit right but with the circuit I now have I have these problems so I'm in doubt here.......

 Re: 1-2-spark
Here again a little update for 1-2-Spark....... At the moment I'm bussy to bring it to the point. Everything is working how I want it now. The last thing before I start to produce is that I want that you can make more as 45 degrees of advance. At the moment you can go only advancing to 45 degrees, this is where the sensor is mounted. So when the sensor sensis the pickup from the flywheel then the spark occours. So you can advance between 0 and 45 dregrees btd. so it is more then enough but I will make it a little more. 45 degrees from fixed + 20 degrees from map sensor so in total 65 degrees. But making a spark before 45 degrees give a little problem at the moment, so still develloping....
It is strange when your engine doesn.t pink at full throttle but pinks at only half throttle or less, but I can do that know (advancing around 52 degrees... and it starts to pink even at half throttle or less.) So this means I can make the engine fuelefficient over all rpm and map ranges).
Cruising along at 90/100 km/h I need only half of throttle or less at the moment so it is super fuelefficient for a 2cv at the moment....
I hope you understand what I'm trying to say.......
When I can solve this last problem with advancing more then the sensor (45 degrees) I will start to deliver...... I think we then have an ignition system which is as good as any modern ignition system (or even better)........
I also am programming multicinders (3-4-5-6-8 cilinders) at the moment to make it useable for any petrol powered engine!!!!
B.T.W. I have a very stable Map reading at the moment, (in my opinion as good (or better) as Megasquirt) so this is very good for injection!!!!!
