Yes, The return spring that is attached to the cowling. Indulge me, but I think it expands and fails in tension when heated.

Actually that may have seemed a bit aggressive. Spray wd40 on it and be done with it.

There is no chance it gets in anyway hot enough to change the property of the spring - it would have to get well in excess of 200c before there was any real change in the properties of the spring and ive never even burnt myself on anything in that part of the engine during numerous pit stops.

sticky throttle is caused by the plastic cable outer getting warm and changing its friction and dirty / worn linkages.
