Do you know anyone that can do a full revision on mine. - I can be without it for a week or so. You are welcome to ship the box to me (clean) It is a day job depending what needs doing. Need to strip it down to find out. You need to find a transport company to deliver both ways Cheers Peter

There is only one person I'd recommend 2CViking wrote: You are welcome to ship the box to me (clean) It is a day job depending what needs doing. Need to strip it down to find out. Given the speed with which a gearbox can be swapped, I'd always just try a believed-good used one first. BUT DEFINITELY NEW OIL. Drain it before you fit it, then new oil before starting, and a change-when-hot after a few hundred km.

I have around 20 425 gearboxes collected over the last 4 years. None of them were fit enough to simply stick clean oil in and off you go. They all had all sorts of problems needing fixing before running properly. If one is brave to just stick another box in, at least remove the lid and rear cover. However if one doesn't know what to look for, it is pretty pointless.

 Re: Sticking Gearbox
I am going to take the lid off and take a good look and work out the operation so I know what is going on for myself. Then I will try and figure out how to get the Box to 2CViking. How much does just the box weigh I wonder

 Re: Sticking Gearbox
Looks like I will be shipping my gearbox for repair. Cannot find anything obvious that is wrong (broken bits in the bottom of the box). Think I have found the source of the oil in my clutch though - seems to have all exited through the top plate of the gear box. Hardly got any left in the box even though I filled it just last week. QUESTION - anyone know the weight and dimensions of the gearbox for shipping Cheers Ian

 Re: Sticking Gearbox
According to a previous post by Ken 23kg is the weight, I guess you will have to measure the box yourself

 Re: Sticking Gearbox
yeah, just got my first quote through for shipping - €220 It would be cheaper to drive it there, stay over and drive back with it (all fixed )
