Aidan,
the number of turns of the steering wheel from lock to lock will tell you if it's a 'quick' rack or the later version.
Always worth checking, just in case there's already been a change.
Will do some wheel turning and counting tomorrow, as I cannot trust my memory on this one...

I'll have a look at J's pinion locking nut, but judging by age I imagine it'll be the one needing the special tool. So anyone going to registers who might be able to bring one along?
