 Re: Toyo 135 tyres
I love my Toyos, me. They're black, round and rubbery. They smell nice, too! Had a few issues getting them on the wheels, as they were considerably less square. A lump hammer saw to this problem, however, and I've since enjoyed a complete driving experience.

 Re: Toyo 135 tyres
So i'm still sort of classed as "the younger generation" and i've been running my 2cv's on toyos now for my 3rd year... i had my first 2cv on them halfway through my first year with her and ive had my 2nd 2cv on them pretty much since i've owned it, that came with mich's and firestones which i soon swapped to toyos, i do find now and then in the wet that yes, they aren't as grippy, but then all websites i've bought them off, they've been stated as a summer tyre! i woulnd't think twice about buying michelins, mainly because of they're hefty price tag for what? a round piece of rubber that goes round a metal rim and pretty much does the same job as this other piece of rubber that you can get at a fraction of the price? i drive hard... and in the dry, i find it extremely hard to get an understeer from my car! unless i'm racing a mate across town and going round a corner and locking up at the same time, but thats cos the wheel isnt actually turning at the end of the day, a tyre is a tyre and the toyos do seem to be serving alot of us quite well! also they were the mandatory tyre for snetterton last year so they cant be that bad! the mich 125x was on the 2cv from pretty much day 1... surely a tyre designed 60 odd years ago is going to have disadvantages over a newer modern tyre design? i also found that in wet and dry... my michelins i was using last year were crap.. decent tread on them, but i didnt like to take corners as hard as i do now! you can feel the difference straight away going from a skinny soft tyre to a thicker harder (hush) tyre and over all, i'd say try the toyos and see what you think, there is always going to be bias on a forum where you have your "purists vote - michelins are the best and always will be bla de bla" and then the "normal vote - i need a new set of tyres, these will do"

 Re: Toyo 135 tyres
I also think michelins look correct When I was bumbling about what tyres to buy, I seeked advice from Russ who said if you can afford buy 135's. So I saved up and lashed out for michelins 135 ZX's and new wheels I've in fairness not driven a 2cv with anything other than mich's but I wouldn't buy anything else And the supposed 70,000 mile life span is appealing too!
I only replaces the 125's 'cos after 23 years service they started to bulge and crack so I saved up and 6 months later finally got them!

 Re: Toyo 135 tyres
What gets me is the £100+ price tag. For exactly what Joe said it was. A full set'd probably be worth more than my car! Plus, that's assuming they do last as long as they're meant to. I ended up with a sidewall puncture last year - piece of concrete in the grass next to a single track lane as a car was squeezing past. I would've been beside myself if that was a Michelin!
