 Re: Smoking when cold James they all do that at some time there was a theory that the piston rings migrate round in their grooves and if the gaps are at the bottom it can let slightly too much oil through when its been sat for a bit( the oil in the barrel gets past the rings as it sits overnight and is burnt off on start - no problems during running) I thought that was just poppycock untill my blue one started smoking on start up less than 1000 miles from new rings pulled the barrel and both compression ring gaps at BDC! when they had been fitted gapped opposite each other. So itll probably go away in a bit  ps you dont need to worry , peg the rings like a 2 stroke, or any other automotive hypochondria you may come up with, just take it out for a good warm up now and again.

Re: Smoking when cold Its weird. Some days it smokes loads and others not. Which is hy it concerned me a bit, It's not burning oil like there's no Tomorow which is cool, The car does seem to be going like a rocket at the moment, no idea why! Maybe it's now a two stroke
