That should give you some clue as to what a daft idea it was spending the same amount as a correctly sized battery would have cost on something that's not designed to fit. Cut your losses, sell the thing to someone with a tractor and buy a proper battery. Don't go f**king about trying to fit it under the seats - as others have said, this is dangerous - or whatever. You're making problems where none existed.

Besides, if you'd mentioned it I could have sent you the battery from my old Charleston for the cost of the postage.

Jonathan, true, but I reckon that the reason why bulkheads crack on RHD cars lies elsewhere. Citroen relocated the battery box from where it sits on LHD cars, moving it further down and towards the nearside, but didn't bother to relocate the strengthening plate which they'd used on LHD cars. For some years, they did provide a little support bracket which was bolted onto the bulkhead, but when that was ditched... Perishing accountants, yet again. ken. Exactly. As I said, it's not designed to fit. Haven't you also created an issue with the bonnet stay shorting out the terminals?

hmm just sits so nice on the parcel shelf and nestled into the back of the "binnacle"
often thought of trying to replicate that on rhd
