There is no point in spraying the whole car, other than providing us with amusement of course. You'll just end up with a huge oily mess that no one will go near as you'll get filthy. The rusting proces is pretty simple. You require steel, your car, oxygen, in the air and held in water and an electrolyte, salty water.
If you keep the water out of the crevices and box sections it'll slow down the rust. Do it perfectly and it won't rust at all but that can't be achieved in the real world. If you squirt a water repellent like Duck Oil or WD40 at things like the bonnet hinge reasonably regularly it'll live. Your waxoyl should do the rest. Helped by removing the salt when conditions allow.

ace advice, i shall follow that
sort of off topic but dont want to start new thread, my car struggles to get warm (as in the heater is crap and i useally use that as an indication how warm the engine is) as its very very cold at the mo, is it worth modifying the muff in anyway? or just leave it to it, as smoetimes the engine struggles for the first 15 mins of use

I would strongly suggest you dont wash it everyday - chances are you'll put water where there wasn't any before.
Take some time, wash it properly and thoroughly. Let it dry, then do what everyones advised you to and wax it properly and thoroughly. Job done - your car's a little bit protected.
Do remember your car is metal and it will rust. You cannot stop this happening. You can just delay it. How much time and money you spend delaying the inevitable is up to you.

95% of rust occurs in or on "undersealed" hidden panels [inner arches,floorpan,chassis,cavities etc] ......it's these areas which need to be washed and treated. This is simple enough with a 2CV .....remove all four wings and thoroughly wash & waxoyle both inner & outer wings. Give the chassis & floorpan a dosing of the same. Inject the same into doors and around the windscreen area. Treat the hinges [bonnet,boot and door] to some oil ....[I used to use old engine oil,until a very knowledge-able gentleman off'n this forum pointed out to me that its carciogenic .....I now use "Trex" or "Crisp & Dry" veggie oil]. Lift the rubber mats frequently,and check for leaks .....if it leaks,mop it out regularly,and bung a coat of waxoyle onto the inside of the floorpan. Waxing your car will only stop about the other 5% of the rust,because as long as the paint is sound & solid,moisture will not get through. The only thing regular polishing alone will do is make your car the shiniest in the scrapyard when it eventually succumbs to the rust fairy..... T.

Thanks Terry, I've had al four wings off, removed all loose wax oil and red oxides read wings (inner side!) and renal oiled, hopefully no chips etc I've painted the outer toe board and wax oiled. I got write in there with the wax oil, take rear wheels off to get good acres (reer boot floor etc) the chassis etc has been injected before

To keep the oil at the usual temp I have to put the grill on at around 5c when driving but around -2 to -10 I use a grill with ONE set of holes taped up. This brings the oil temp back up and the heating works again. DO keep an eye on the temperatures tho as yo u don't want to cook your engine. Another thing you can do is put insulation in the roof and get rid of the cardboard dump tubes under the wings. Cut inner tubes to around 16cm and use these. When it's cold you can then use a cable tie to close them off so it does not matter what setting the heating is at, all the air has to come into the cabin.

Inner tubes? I've thought of getting a dan to pull it through (ecad sell it) I realised I didn't have the muff on last night but still it's not brillian with it on

The best thing I did to my car's heating was to fit some better heat exchangers. It actually gets too hot inside now with the heater on fully, even in sub-zero temps.
I regularly wash and hose my car off underneath in the salty conditions btw.
