so russ's verdict is the points look fine. i did a voltage check, on idle i have about 14.5-13 ISH and revving a bit i get 15.....

no blone up stero yet or egg smell suprisingly :roll:

if it goes above 14.5 when you rev it the voltage reg needs turned down

it shold climb steady wirth revs to about 14.5 then hold at that even when you take it up to near full revs
it wont blow stereo because they usually have built in regulation

condensers, indicator clicker and coil may suffer

and as an aside have you been out for a drive yet does it feel any better?

yes i have, it feels so much different to drive, i dont think its pinking,
i say its so much better to drive, i havent driven it since friday, and have been driving a boat with heavy steering all weekend, so may just be that but it feels so much better!
i have it about 3/4 tooth ish after firing, couldnt get it spot on so i settled for that!!

driving home tonight, and the headlamps flickered every now and again, if i had the interior light on it was noticable, but hardly so with the headlamps,

could be all down to how your voltage regulator is working. or how loud you play your spice girls records, or whatever.
