Post Re: Tyres. Which ones & where from?
Thanks everybody for all the info. Much appreciated and sorry to have sparked the old 'where do I put the best tyres' debate. That way lies controversy & madness. Personally I'd rather lose the back than the front (as most things steer from the front) so I'll always put the best on the front. Oversteer gets more 'catchable' the nearer you sit to the back axle. I'm not sure it would be apparent what was happening in a 2cv oversteer situation, what with all the body roll, until it was halfway round, too far to catch.
My opinion is that 2cvs will definitely understeer on the limit.
Brooky.

We have Uniroyal on ours, :P They are pretty good on grip and slow wearing. Think they are fairly cheap aswell. :D

Michelin 135x15 Tubeless - £80.00
Firestone 125x15 - £55.00
Mabor 135x15. Made in France An excellent budget alternative - £40.00
Nang Kang 135x15 New, not remould, excellent steel braced radial. Set of 4 - £140.00
Nang Kang 135x15 New, not remould, excellent steel braced radial. - £37.50

Toyos are fine
search engine will throw up suppliers but the price has gone up and i think the racing club bought the last batch from toyo.

Scooba has Mabors on Dudley and they are fine - dont wear as well as Michelin but are very acceptable for £40 a throw - I'd recommend them to anyone on a budget.

I have now reverted back to Michelins (135ZX) but had a pair of 135 Mabors on the front of my 2cv, excellent in the wet 8-)

Guess it's just Dyanes which are prone to oversteer when the going's a bit slippery, then?

Most certainly not the last batch of Toyo 135 for 2cv, in plentiful supply and, some say, the price went down!
