 Re: ICE.
I like having a starting handle. Try starting some gash Fiesta or similar with a flat battery and no jump start...

 Re: ICE.
[quote="ken"]Hi folks, just out of interest, isn't an amplifier rated on its 'music' power, not the current draw? From a little searching on the net, one site suggests that a 1000 watt amp would pull around 25amps from the car's electrical system. Mind you, that still means it could be a good idea to carry a spare battery... ken. im no electrician ken so i dont have the answer, if the music is really bassy, or constant, the sub will require more power, thus drawing it from the battery, mine seems to run pretty well with out a power cap atm so im not using it, though a second battery is a good idea... how would i go about charging it? would charging a second battery off the existing alternator burn it out??? i might just get one for show purposes then charge it at home...

 Re: ICE.
You can buy such a thing as a 'split charge system' but I've no idea how it works, other than it will charge 2 batteries from one alternator.
Maybe a search on eBay or a call to Andy Morris will do the trick?

 Re: ICE.
Managed to goad my dad into starting his new Series IIA Land Rover with the starting handle yesterday, just to see if he could. Now *that's* in car entertainment (I was sat in the driver's seat )!

 Re: ICE.
haha, My van has an intrusive approx 127+dB stereo installed as seen at the WM! Kenwood MP3/cd headunit under dash with line in and out. Front doors have Pioneer 17cm 2 ways plus sony 3/4" tweeters in the tops of them. Behind the front seats on a shelf are a pair of Caliber 6x9s currently running off the headunit as are the front door speakers. I have spare chanels on the Kenwood amp which runs the 12" kenwood sub currently. in the rear of the van are a pair of Infinity 6x9s and a pair of 4 way kenwood 6x9s both running off a JBL amp. Amp has line out for multi car hook up! I have the standard 2cv battery up front linked to an 85amp leisure battery in the back via a split charge relay. (100amp i think) this is all cabled in with some fat gauge cable (about 10mm if not fatter) and special 40amp fuses i think. Next time I'm out in the garage I'll take some pics. Dont forget with ice you need a laser or rope lights and a beacon!
