as long as you did the adjustment then thats right. There is a reason its adjustable - if it were always 4 turns out they could have just made it a fixed jet

good to hear you've sorted it; a cracked base insulating block would certainly have had a considerable effect on the mixture.

Can you simply drill the 102 or 105 out with a 1.07mm drill bit?

yes a No 58 is 1.067mm - and with a wobbly hand thatll be as close to 1.07 as you can get. there are drills for PCB that resemble a pilot hole drill. I have the normal twist drills which were able to do Sams primary jet in situ through the access cap on the carb as the primary jet had been chewed and couldnt be extracted.
