sub_Pete, I like the idea that you can simply bolt it down.... to a spot at the engine you like.... how high can it measure bolting it down at the exaust or exhaust????
Do you know what the voltage of the signal is, with 1-2-spark I can also do this, I can 0-5 volt in 1024 steps...

@lpg K type TC output is millivolts. Temp Range -200C to 1300C Interface to micro use a TC amplifier either MAX31855K (smt) or AD595-AQ (DIL) giving 0-5 volt. I have a pcb for the AD595 and interfaced it to a Arduino + display. Shows temp 0C to 100C all OK OFF the car......but ON the CAR spurious readings!!!!??? Because most TC's are earthed on one side, you get a ground loop, which upsets the readings. Hence the battery powered display (See my first post). INFO also have a load of pics.
