Another view, this one from the side.
The 'front to rear pipe' is fitted with a split rubber sleeve and clipped to the front pipe to keep it out of harm's way.

As an alternative, on the ECAS/Dalton 2CV racer, I seem to recall the pipe being routed close to the bulkhead and running _behind_ the front axle. I guess if it had ever been necessary to change a front axle during a 24 hour race, that would have made things (slightly) easier. ;)

thanks Ken I will take a picture tomorrow of the pipe I am trying to work with, its the same pipe as we had on the race car and now with the new chassis (original type) it just seems wrong to me!
