I wouldn't use a screw, it will eat the aloy thread when torqing it....

My 2p,

M8 Steel Studs and Brass Nuts

The front has enough room for a socket, but the rear there's only room for an open ended spanner

have a look through the rest of the catalogue and the likes of machine7 as a few aircooled VW and the posh sportscar that started as beetle use Exhaust studs that are M8 reducing to M7 ECAS started selling them too

I think I'm going to helicoil the studs so they stay the same size.

What depth of helicoil would be suitable please guys? I hadn't thought abut this before but just saw this kit on ebay and realised they would be too short wouldn't they.
