hi Ken - yeah I had a look (was very helpful ta) someone else had suggested finding some solid bar to fit up into my existing steering column and weld that and then clamp it into the uj, cut a groove and weld all that together also???????????????????

This might sound a silly question, but why do you need a UJ in the column? Unless either the chassis is bent or you're modifying the upper mount to change the position, it'll add nothing to the party. Or am I missing something?

C15 use the same spline setup. someone in the racing Club was going to do a search for moderns that use the same shaft Dia and spline count some of the early VAG looked promising, Ford and PAS use a triangular and slotted format - probably buy in their UJs from the same supplier. Never ever heard back from him.

I may be wrong but I think the Burton guys told me some time that joint they use is of a visa or C15. Maybe you could just give them a call to find out for sure.
