When they built cars Did the engines/crankshafts get imported from France?

We had 10 original french made shipped back to France to us. All sold except one I keep. No reports from anybody regarding trouble. One UK racer bought 6 some years ago, never heard back from him?

No don't remember his name. Can find it if needed. The racer was tired of not completing many races due to engine (crank shaft) failure
