Once those 'tacked in place' cover plates had been stuck to the underside of the shagged sills, that grit blasting and hot zinc spraying was just a waste of time.

Although it would fool those unlucky enough to judge a car solely by a shiny paint finish...

OH MY GOD
Now I know why my van floor was a mess.It had been repaired with a metal sheet,pop rivets,fiberglass and SILICONE SEALER .Then they painted it,giving it a real good no slip finish that would have been fine on a boat ,and used some sort of white filler stuff to cover small holes.Oh,and the welding on one of the cross members was hidden with more silicone .Dont understand their mentality,why repair a panel when it can be replaced?
Never mind,its going to be fine when its finished,when ever that may be .
