Wine?
at this time of the evening, one really ought to be on brandy, although I've had to settle for rum,
as some blighter's had more than their fair share of the Courvoisier.

Not sure who to blame, as there's nobody else in this household who drinks the stuff?

( Just remembered, there was some business about making a Christmas cake going on
earlier today.)

But, can't we keep the one wot uses a 'pedal'?

'Peddles' belong on a cycling forum (or ones for illegal drugs, if such things exist). ;)

I'm surprised at you, Ken. The things that one pushes with one's feet in order to propel a bicycle are spelt "pedals". Although it's possible that there's some overlap between the cycling world and that of illegal drug use. :)

Mmm... 'peddles' is presumably what a 'peddler' does in the course of turning an honest crust...? Unless they are a dope peddler I suppose in which case, in this fair land @ least, it would be a dishonest one, the little tinker.
As for the wine; I can only plead dinner @ my sis's as an excuse, someone had to make sure the open bottles were prevented from going sour! ...and it being my turn not to drive :) By the time we woz 'ome I was past needing further fuel to ease the clutching oratory forced upon your good selves. But had there been any Calvados lurking about looking for a home...

That said, there's some info here ...

No it's not pre-select. There are two clutch (plural of clutches is clutch?), normal foot activated one and the Trafficlutch. Trafficlutch is a centrifugal clutch, the clutch shoes fly outwards as the engine speed increases and engage with the flywheel. Moped like 'twist and go'. First and reverse are selected, at tickover, without touching the clutch pedal - peddle - peadle - peddel - round buttony thing on the floor, dammit. Wine is the curse of the thinking classes... Anybut, shove it in gear and then boot it, centrifugal clutch engages as the revs rise and off you go. Stop at junctions and such without touching clutch in whatever gear you are in and then stuff it back in first or second - second is good in traffic on the flat as you rarely need more than second in a traffic confiture and it will pull away (at least lightly loaded) in second quite happily. The carb has a damper to stop the revs dropping too quick when you lift off as it disengages if the revs drop to tick over, not good for engine braking if you fluff it... Changes up and down the box are made with the clutch peddle (buttony thing) as normal. I don't like Gerty's, as Russ says, it judders, part of the prob is the drive shafts being simple UJs and naturally lumpy on lock but haven't investigated the skewed flywheel yet. Other Trafficlutch may be fine. Later Citroens; GSA fer e.g. had a thing called a 'C matic' which was a 3 speed floor change without a clutch peddle, you just changed gear with the stick while your foot bounced up and down pretending there was a clutch... I worked for a Citroen garage in the late 70s and drove lotsa different stuff...

RT,
given how rough I've felt this morning, I'm not surprised.
Even caught myself halfway to the shop over the road with a mug of tea still in hand...

Just like to point out that this is mainly roadies and has little to do with the DH/MTB community!

Enquiry from an owner, crunches gears?
Some pics of internals?
Can it be adjusted.
Any documentation?

Cheers
