wanted to take the whole end off to change the smaller router spring but little peened over end meant no go...



so i removed the little peened over end by filing it flat.



then nipped out for dinner



removed the end plate and fitted the new spring being careful to get it in the correct way first (few trial fits obviously!) then welded it back on



refitted to carb making sure that the spring end were in their correct places and under tension/sprung



refitted it to D*lly and after a bit of turning over re-fueling she fired into life and ran fine. Just need to extend the tie wrap from the headlamp bar as the spring is too tight making the throttle heavy!

Nice work Tim, cracking pictures, nice and clear for simple folk like me can't believe it is that fiddly, looks like quick job at first glance. Going to have to borrow a dollop of weld from someplace.
