 Re: Consumption and engine oil
Pavlos, how well does your car run? Is it 'smooth' at tick-over, or does it feel as tho' it wants to splutter to a coughing halt after idling for a minute?
Does it rev cleanly both when stationary and when accelerating up through lower gears?
Just how bad is your fuel consumption? And how do you drive?!
Is the increase in fuel consumption a recent thing, or have you never been all that impressed with it?

 Re: Consumption and engine oil
Ok guys here it is what i ve notice untill now. On the beggining meaning back on november the car was about 8.5l/100km. On these days i measure 9.5 . Sometimes i even measure more than 10l/100km. One possible cause probably was the fuel line and the gasket on the top of the tank. I fixed both of them and since sunday i didn't do a fuel up. When the car is cold ( as you remember here in greece when we say cold we mean 7-13 celcius) it cant keep it's idle . When you ll drive for 3-5 minutes then it does keep idle but it doesnt sound steady . The car feels like no power at all . The only time that i felt that it was accelerating good enough was with a cleaning liquid that i added in the tank 2 or 3 weeks ago when i was having problems with the accelerator pump . SInce then i was feeling the car ok some days ago what i saw it going more than 80km/h with the fourth gear. I live on the penteliko mountains which our montains with 700metes of height. My house is at 450m so as you can see there is a lot of uphills which i am thing=king that is nothing to do as when yyou are on the opposite direction they are downhils. I am a little agressive with the pedal . Yesterdays news . The car yesterday was doing some cuts on the lows. It was so intence that i was afraiding of not been able to reach home. Finally it should be the connection on the ignition coil which was loose. After that i tried to see if the timing was ok. I think that i had set the timing wrong as it is difficult for me to understand and set it right....! Anyway finally i did a stupid thing as i forgot the drill in the hole and when i start the car on one downhill it must have been broken inside the engine I ll try again to set the timing as somebody gave me a strobe which i dont know how to use. Thats the news for now guys . I am going down to try and deal with the timing.

 Re: Consumption and engine oil
Ok guys i think i found the problem . I openend the top of the carb to see that it was top with fuel . These photos are after i removed some of the gasoline. It was full untill the top of the carb. Is This the small dot that Sean talked me about at another topic of mine and that should be 17-19mm heigher than the gasket. Mine should be at 10mm heigher. On this photo i set my caliber to 18mm height. Is this the thing that i should bend to make it come at the right height ?

 Re: Consumption and engine oil
i am very happy boys. My first measurement show me that i fall under the 8,54l/100km which was the best measurement that i did last year.
Now i am on 7,54l/100km and going down....!
thanks guys for the big support. without you the 2cv would be a decorative pot in the garden.
