Post Re: Toyo 135 tyres
I've Toyo 135's on mine, I can't fault them either we've been heavily loaded from UK to S.W.France on all type of roads and weather with no worries at all. I don't drive like an old woman or man for that matter. So it's thumbs up for them from me,I would lie to have put Mich's back on but not at the price that they are...Also dave 411 is quite right 2CV not a sports car....

its a compromise a toyo can be had for about 1/3 of a 135mich

for those that say toyos are good in the wet need to get a decent comparison - toyos dont like wet , diesel scum or cold and are pretty bad on fatted out tarmac

by far the best of the non michelins and better than crumbling bald 125s

your just going to have to grow some balls and try it out for yourself

I'm not sure what growing some balls would have to do with it :| ,more growing some money, i was looking at my 125's on the van and thinking how skinny they looked and thought about flogging them on and fishing about to see what other peoples experience was of the cheaper-than-zx 135's and the next best thing appeared to be the toyos.
The trouble is i had 2 mich 125x's on it and some shit firestones and last year got two new mich's to make a set when really i suppose i should have waited and spent it on 135's .
(did the azu250 come with 135's originally?)

So the question was more meant as "is it really worth it if i've already got decent 125x's on"
and so far it seems to be 50-50

Just do it then tell us your thoughts. Desision making is an undertated and under used skill these days

Its geting like the Volkzone Forum where every night someone posts up "Im thinking of using 15w 40 oil in my backfiring asthmatic shuddering oversteering death trap* Id be glad of the forums input"

just do it what have you got to loose, where's the sense of adventure, the joi de vivre?

* i added the "backfiring asthmatic shuddering oversteering death trap" bit myself

But let me know what you want for the Michelins though. my car has two new Toyos on the front and I'm desperate for good Mich's to replace them with.

I used to be indecisive now i'm not so sure

I'll tell you what i've got to lose, a couple of hundred quid and i was toying whether it was worth it.

But point taken ,i'm the 'for god's sake' one on some scooter forums at what i perceive as silly questions

In response to both Banjo and Dave, a 2CV certainly isn't a sports car, it's more fun at lower speeds, but..... I want a tyre that grips well in all weather and road conditions, as a tyre that 'lets go' on a bend in the wet can end up with the same result whether you're driving a Ferrari 355 something or other, or a 2CV.......In the ditch at the side of the road.

But with michelins you don't have to corner slower.

I have to admit that when I had my new 79 club, on original 125 x's, you could corner on the door handles and it wouldnt come unstuck - now, even the almost new Beige Beast, with toyo 135's doesnt handle half as well - OK OK, I know peeps are going to say "well its a 30+ year old car", but its very tight at 14K miles, doesnt groan over bumps and doesn't wallow so its as near new as they come - its setup will be as near new perfect, so it has to be down to poorer tyres......discuss!
