Right, been out in the lovely cold wet weather on this fine evening, tried everything previously mentioned and still no luck, so.. dad gave me permission to fit the carb off the front engine of the jeep, so i did and it works! took it out for a run with no problems. having said that im not going to count my chickens just yet as his car played up on friday. so it turns out both the carbs i have are faulty. i knew one was as the 2nd choke spring had broken but the other base must be faulty too...
