 Re: flasher unit questions
also when i connected battery up to test few things that dont need ignition, such as hazards, there was nothing, not lights,
the head lights worked, just not hazards, is it something to do with the lack of wiring on the ignition?

although saying that my brake lights appeared to work fine, it was the liscense plate light on the left side that seemed to be be the left out one so by process of elimination, i paired it up with the other one, which is live all the time.. I think this is about the sidelights/tail lights. Have a look in your haynes manual, so long as it was published after 1990 it will have a wiring diagram for cars after 1981 and a wiring diagram for late '80s cars I think after '87. The later type had separate fuses for left and right side lights, so they had two separate wires from the fuse box to the back of the car. Earlier cars only had one fuse covering all the side lights, so only had one wire running to the back of the car. So the two wires which each go to one of your tail lights/number plate lights will both need to be connected to the same feed on the bulkhead. (not sure of the colour, might be green)

All cars had the wiring there, as it was simpler to manufacture one type of "loom to fit all". B/D/etc would have LHD looms, so the UK's looms would be different anyway to put the wiring on the right side of the car. Also, DimDip was only ever a UK thingummy.
