Then open the hood, stand up inside the car, and bounce and shake it vigorously to get the oil splashing and sploshing around the innards.

Or simply turn the can by hand?

That's the boring way of doing it

what sort of oil pump is that?

One of "Toolstations" finest .....cost about £2.50p [IIRC]

"In my opinion" .....No.
I would have suggested using "used cooking oil" if it was.
However,if your pocket wont stretch to £1.10p for a litre of Tescos cheapest ......I guess "used" is better than nothing .....[if you dont mind the crunchy bits of black chips/fish fingers/onion rings etc which "used cooking oil" tends to contain.]

... did wonder whether using Waitrose's finest garlic infused olive oil would give Snowy un peu plus de charme gaulois... but decided against it on account of national stereotyping not being so funny any more. Then again...

by used, i dont mean straight out the frier with crap in it,

i mean with no fat, water,

its as clean as, my friend filters it down to one micron, so its very very clean

my pocket will stretch to that of course, just if i could do it with used then it would be easier..

Mrs Smiffy says that they've got oil squirter cans like that in the 50p shop in Halesowen... perhaps I should buy the entire stock and offer them on the Fleamart section...

Just to mention, those particular cans probably are handy and possibly cleaner, but don't panic if you don't have one/can't get one, there are plenty of alternatives. I just used a tube and funnel. Only reason for that was I found some tube and a funnel at work... freestuff rules!

If the oil is too viscous you could heat it a bit so it's less viscous and the oil spreads easier in the can

it goes less gloopy if you heat it, and if you add a smidgen of petrol to it, and mix it well..
