A new clutch isn't a fortune, and it's very easy to change (2 hours?) If the car's still going well otherwise, then I'd ignore it (assuming you can't adjust it out) and make sure I drove round it slipping. Then, when it's payday, slap a clutch in it. As Luke says, very easy to do, and will help you get to know the car better!

Where abouts are you in the world?

Will you be around on Sunday? I can show you. My missus lives just up the road, I'll be out all day saturday, but should be around sunday afternoon.

To adjust the clutch, crack off the 16/19mm nuts on the cable, and wind the larger one (the one that's against the bulkhead) in/out until there's just under an inch of freeplay at the pedal.

I can certainly reccomend some people in the area to speak to, yes.

In fact, better still, George? Sam? You live there more than I do....

Part Number: 003436 is the one you want, assuming your car's still got all the same bits it had in 1988. There's an alignment tool in the box usually.
