calm down, calm down! mr Clewer :P

and hell no! im not getting a saxo!

spanners, i get what your saying loud and clear, im not talking 0-60 in 5 seconds, add about 20 to that! its definately got more torque now, feels alot stronger low down, but once shes past 65, it doesnt seem to go much more! wheras before, 70 was easy, it's probably best to say i wrongly use the word performance!

I wish someone on here would buy a bleedin' Saxo....then I might have a chance of selling the lovely set of 14" 1.6 205GTi Speedlines cluttering up my shed.

Joe,
don't forget that you've made (at least) two changes to how your engine is set up.
The most likely reason for the top end not feeling quite as good as it did before is that the timing is slightly retarded from where it was set previously.
That's not saying that it was correct previously, since an overly advanced ignition setting wouldn't only allow you to rev it without mercy when going downhill or with a following wind, but also render it more prone to pinking.

You did set it up with a strobe at full ignition advance of 34 degrees, didn't you?

ken.

it wasn't pinking before ken, but i felt it wasnt best, had tweaked it a little, and got better results, which is all i've done today... changing too many variables, which i think is my problem, i sort out one problem, but then do this, and then this, and then the end result isnt as good as expected, i'll have the strobe out tomorrow and re-do it :)
