Technical specs and Voodoo magik required... I have all the components back to assemble my Visa motor, but i can't find my workshop manual... Can anyone give an abridged version of torque settings and finesse required to assemble a Visa engine? cheers Harley

 Re: Assembling a Visa engine
all my workshop manuals are just laying under the saloon table, my feet are on the saloon table right in this moment. I try to scan and post it here for you, I hope it is allowed to do so.

 Re: Assembling a Visa engine
Hey thank Ken and lpgo, much appreciated. Looking at the seal kit i have i don't seem to have the correct relief valve seal The closest match i have seems to be to thin or is it correct? Original left, new Right... Also, is degreasing the engine cases then wash/rinse in warm soapy water the best way to clean them? Cheers. Harley

 Re: Assembling a Visa engine
Harley, I've never yet had to split the cases on a Visa engine, so not much help with hands-on stuff.
Looking at the Haynes manual, the O ring which is fitted in that groove does look to be a 'loose' fit, however it's not as 'lost in space' as the one you've shown.
There's also a photograph of a circular seal which is square in cross section fitted onto a spigot, but I cannot make out where that's located... Maybe between the oil pump and the crankcase?

 Re: Assembling a Visa engine
Will do Viking.
What about cleaning the engine casing, i have cleaned the mating surfaces with a scraper, then should i degrease then use warm soapy water?
Ken, i think the item you are reffering is the crankcase seal, 64.1D in my Hanes manual (which i found, my mate was using it as a paperweight) althought there is a larger square cut seal i have not researched yet. Another note is that on later engines "Bypass valve duct O-ring" is not fitted...?
Cheers
Harley
