 Strange honky-parpy noise (left-rear) when going over bumps Pretty much as it says in the heading, really. I'm being a lazy git tonight, so I can't be bothered to get under it and have a look. Is that noise the sound of a dry knife edge? Or is it something more serious? The shocker is pretty new (2k miles).
The noise is only really noticeable at lower speeds.

Re: Strange honky-parpy noise (left-rear) when going over bu I'd guess your suspension can needs oiling .... A picture speaks a 1000 words ....so here's the cure.    Remove the rubber gaiter ....  ....insert the end of the oilcan spout and give it about 6 or 7 good pumps. It helps if you can rotate the suspension can in between "pumps". Dont use engine oil,gear oil,WD40 or LHM .....you need veggie oil, or castor oil .....[you could of course use "virgin olive oil" if you wanna do it the expensive way ....  ] hth T.

turned the can around so hole in it faced upwards,
as if like magic no squeak, im going to put some oil in anyway,
what sort of oil pump is that?
and ive talked about this before, and had replies, but in your opinion is used cooking oil ok? its alot more viscous and alot less runny

Or simply turn the can by hand? Or simply drive the car over a bumpy road Castor oil is the oil to use for this problem. I use a syringe with a small tube on in that goes into the can. Cheap and easy ;')
