Maybe a shade less,
as the static advance position given by the 'pin in hole' setting on a 435 is at 12* BTDC, whereas it's at 8* BTDC on later 602 engines and you still want to end up with 'about' 34* BTDC maximum advance.

If you find that there's no trace of pinking with that setting, you can always try 1/2 tooth more but if that makes it detonate/pink, then go back to the previous setting.
Once you've found the optimum setting for full advance, mark that point on the flywheel as a reference for the future.

That's the main benefit with using a strobe, being able to check the timing at full advance, rather than assuming it's ended up at the correct position after the centrifugal advance has done its job.
If you mark the intermediate teeth between static and full advance, you can also check if the centrifugal advance is operating smoothly as the revs increase...

Sean/ken/ anyone.. Does the 7x teeth principle still count for a 435cc engine? I have ordered a strobe mentioned in the early part of this thread and intend to check my timing on full advance

Thanks in advance
