 Re: Traffic Clutch
All gears? Maybe clutch cable is too loose? Or something wrong with the linkage, like the lever clamped to the gearbox has slipped and rotated.

Interference is when you start at a steep hill you do it with normal clutch but when rpm droppes the centifugaal clutch loosens so the engine picks up speed so the normal clutch bites rpm droppes again and so on.. (hope you understand my crap English again) Some pics of internals? Here you go exploded view (google centrifugaal koppeling 2cv) Can it be adjusted. Yes it can normal plates like a normal clutch. centifugaal clutchplates by bending them in or outwarts. Any documentation? Cheers Peter Here you go exploded view (google centrifugaal koppeling 2cv)

 Re: Traffic Clutch
I have a trafficlutch on my 425 AZU Fourgonnette - what a pain. It works extreemly well BUT you CAN'T drive it without a clutch pedal. Yes, you can take off from a standing start without using the clutch pedal, but that's it. I believe it was invented for 1) novice drivers, as you can't stall the engine and 2) good for delivery van in town where you stay in 1st gear all the time.
With the old Hardy spicer 2cv joints, you get a good kangaroo start when on a slight lock unless you slip the clutch till engine speed picks up. Warning, when you use the engine as a brake ie: going down hill, you must select a low gear to keep the trafficlutch engaged.
I am soon getting rid of it and go to a single conventional clutch. WARNING, do not run the engine without the gearbox / trafficlutch hub attached as the clutch arms will explode.

 Re: Traffic Clutch
Bobh has the Trafficlutch gone yet?
Obviously the fly wheel must change if fitting a normal clutch instead of the Trafficlutch but can you still use the same gearbox, does it need modifying? Is the input shaft longer fer e.g.? m

 Re: Traffic Clutch
I will hang onto the 425 + gearbox + Trafficlutch until the 602 and new gearbox is up and running. Its a bit cold (-8deg C ) at the moment, so progress is a bit slow. If anyone needs dimensions, I can get at all parts of the 425/gearbox combo. Am I right in assuming that the gearbox for the 602 can have a threaded portion of the input shaft ready for a Trafficlutch although an conventional clutch is used?
