Also, make sure the carb is properly secured to the manifold. Had this myself; quite the strong smell of petrol, and a fast idle due to more air finding its way into the manifold. I had to tighten the studs & then the nuts. hth.

Yesterday I checked the pump to carb hose and found it wet with petrol. :shock:
Apparentlly, there were no running or idling issues but the smell was there.
The hose was a braided automotive one bought new some 2 years ago... :?

this new bio fuel seems to rot through certain fuel-line!
