If the bolts are perished propably the nuts are also.
Or are they self tappered int the plastic tank?

oboe,
they're M4 screws, which fit into a steel insert moulded into the plastic.

It's possible to drill and re-tap the threads, but tricky, so you might be best to abandon the original fixing positions and make new ones 60 degrees round.

I'd recommend using stainless M4 set screws with a hex head, not those bloomin' crosspoint/phillips head screws.

Would it be stupid to tap the bolts from m4 to m5? One of the three m4 bolts is loose
And just turns so it doesnt seal the sender and If when I fill up too much, it starts to leak..
I've a wide range of m4 and m5 bolts to play with, but wanted to ask if it was a problem to go to m5...
Bit annoying as there's no petrol round here after everyone has decided the world will end if they don't fill all there empty cans up with fuel, leaving people who actually need it 'cos there low In a sticky situation
I've got enough to limp to work, and I intend to fill a jerry can up and take it to work so I can drop the tank and sort this leaky sender out
Wondered horrifically o/t!
