All you need to start a 2cv engine is....
1 cable from battery + to youre starter engine (wire is as thick as youre little finger (works for my fingers

)
1 cable from battery - to gearbox (wire is little smaller as youre little finger)
1 thin cable from battery + to youre starter engine. as soon you hit the right connection youre starterengine turns... there is a seperate connection at the starter engine where you put the cable on butfor testing you can hold it against the second big connection (similar to the connection where the battery
goes to). Be sure when you do this that youre gearbox is not in gear..
Does youre starterengine turn over great now you only need a spark at the right moment.
does youre starterengine not turn over...
- flat battery (take one from the neighbour)
- bad starterengine (turn it over by hand)
- can't turn it over by hand ,engine stuck
Now how to get a spark...
take a wire (small one) from the battery + to a connection of the coil (doesn't matter which one)
Now there a 2 wires coming out of the front of the engine, take the biggest connector and put it to the other free connection at the coil.
rev youre starterengine like described above and youre engine will start.
When not, take a lead from a sparkplug put a sparkplug in it hold it near a metal part (not near the carburetor)of the engine; rev the starterengine and look/listen for sparks.
Do you have a spark good 9but it can be at the wrong timing so adjust the timing)
Don't you have any sparks
- take another coil
- check the timing/points condensator
Does youre carburetor have fuel??
Otherwise put some gasoline into youre airfilter and try again..
You need to feedle along with all these simultaniusly to make youre engine
run....... but when it runs after 8 or 10 years lying around, its almost like se....
good luck.
